Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use Kiln Notes (kilnnotes.com). "Kiln Notes", "we" and "us" mean the people who run it. By creating an account or using Kiln Notes, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to use Kiln Notes.
- Give accurate details when you sign up, and keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
Your content
- You own what you post: your photos, notes and recipes.
- By posting, you give us permission to store, display, resize and share your content so Kiln Notes can work. For example, we show public pieces in the Gallery, on your profile, in link previews and in search results. This permission is free and worldwide. It ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies others have already shared or that are briefly kept in backups.
- Only post photos and content you have the right to share.
Glaze and safety disclaimer
Recipes, glaze results and firing notes on Kiln Notes are shared by members and are not tested or checked by us.
- Glazes can contain toxic materials. A glaze that looks fine may still release lead, barium or other harmful substances into food or drink.
- Don't assume any glaze shared here is food safe. Have glazes properly tested before using them on functional ware.
- Follow safe practices when handling raw materials and firing kilns.
- You use any information from Kiln Notes at your own risk.
Studios
- Studio admins manage their studio's members, clays and glazes, and can edit or remove from the studio feed the public pieces members post there.
- Each studio sets its own rules. We aren't responsible for how a studio is run.
Things you must not do
- Post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or misleading.
- Post other people's photos or personal details without their permission.
- Pretend to be someone else.
- Send spam, scrape the site, or interfere with how it works.
- Try to access accounts or information that aren't yours.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
Ending your account
You can stop using Kiln Notes at any time, and delete your account in Account Settings or by emailing slowversion.studio@gmail.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or if we stop running the service. If Kiln Notes ever shuts down, we'll give reasonable notice where we can, so you can save your content.
The service
Kiln Notes is provided "as is." We work to keep it running and your information safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own copies of anything important.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or incidental losses, or for lost information, arising from your use of Kiln Notes or from relying on information shared there, including glaze recipes or results posted by members. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms. If the changes are important, we'll let you know in the app. If you keep using Kiln Notes after that, you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
